Two key players have returned, while two players have been sidelined due to injury.
The BCCI has announced the 15-member Team India for the Asia Cup 2022 on Monday.
‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma will lead the team while KL Rahul will be the vice-captain. KL Rahul could not play in the series against West Indies due to corona infection. Also, he is now back in the team after recovering from a surgery.
Apart from Rahul, veteran batsman Virat Kohli has also made a comeback. Kohli was not part of the Indian squad for the West Indies tour. He last played against England last month. Kohli scored 17 off 22 balls in the ODI against England on 17 July. He has been struggling to play the big game for a long time
Bumrah and Harshal out
Fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel are out of the Indian squad due to injuries. BCCI has given information about both by tweeting. The board said that Bumrah and Harshal are not available for selection due to injuries. Both are undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore to get fit. Bumrah was last seen in the field in the ODI series against England. He has been suffering from a back injury for the past few days
